THE ORGANIZATION: The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation maintains its international headquarters at Taliesin West, in Scottsdale, Arizona. As the organization founded by Wright to be the repository of his life's work and ideas and the first to bear his name, the Foundation is engaged in a broad range of activities to preserve Wright's legacy; provide opportunities for the public to learn about the principle ideas embodied in his work; increase public awareness of the importance of architecture to society and the individual; and stimulate a demand for excellence in architecture and design.
The Foundation owns Taliesin West (designed 1937-59) and Taliesin (designed 1911-59) in Wisconsin. Both properties served as Wright's personal homes, studios, and architectural laboratories and are integral to understanding his genius. The Foundation works in partnership with the Wisconsin-based non-profit organization, Taliesin Preservation Inc., to conduct programs related to preservation and public access at Taliesin. Both Taliesin and Taliesin West are recognized as National Historic Landmarks, the most elite designation on a national level available for cultural properties in the U.S.
The Foundation owns and manages the vast Frank Lloyd Wright Archives at Taliesin West. The Archives - the most complete collection of work by an individual artist housed in a single facility - is the primary resource for scholars and researchers studying Wright's work and the principles and philosophy underlying it. The Archives is also the major resource for the licensed reproduction of Wright's decorative designs.
The Foundation operates a broad range of education programs including the accredited Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, with roots in the apprenticeship program Wright established in 1932. Over the years the program evolved to meet the changing education requirements that architects must obtain and the school now offers both a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree as well as the Master of Architecture degree which has full professional accreditation from the National Architectural Accrediting Board. Additionally, the Foundation operates a range of educational outreach programs for youth from grades K-12 and a summer camp at Taliesin West.
The organization's budget is approximately $6.5 million, which was balanced last year and anticipated to have a small surplus this year; however, there are significant capital projects and plans for an endowment that will require additional major fundraising. Today there is a reserve dedicated to the Archive and School of approximately $1 million.

REPORTING TO: Board of Directors, through the Board President and Executive Committee
LOCATION: New York City
Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS-NYC) is the founding agency of our nation's mentoring movement. The mission of BBBS-NYC is to provide mentoring to NYC children in three ways:
- Mentoring - Continually identify youth in need who can benefit from long-term one-on-one mentoring relationship and then to create and/or expand services for those youth through providing them with a mentor.
- Training - Train smaller agencies to run effective mentoring programs for youth in NYC.
- Influencing Public Policy - Provide a professional and informed point of view in the public arena based on experience and expertise in effective social services and mentoring for children. Actively lead support for appropriate initiatives in the legislative, research, foundation and public awareness areas.
With a vision to provide every needy NYC child between the ages of 7 and 18 with one-to-one mentoring, BBBS-NYC is the premier and pioneering mentoring organization in the city, and indeed in the country. The agency raises over $9 million annually through special events, grants, foundation support and individual giving. The budget provides the resources for 90 full-time and 25 part-time staff to serve 4000 youth and their families on an annual basis in a variety of programs customized for the child and the mentor. Examples include serving children of incarcerated parents, children in immigrant families, teen mothers, kids with special needs, teens in the juvenile justice system, or just the kid in a single parent household needing a friendly ear and helping hand.
BBBS-NYC has also developed a collaborative program with business and selected New York City middle and high schools to make it possible for employees in the work force to volunteer to mentor during the course of their working day during the school year. This innovative addition to our traditional programs is expanding on an annual basis with additional potential for very strong growth.
In addition, BBBS-NYC in partnership with Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service has created and runs the nation's premier mentoring training program for smaller, local not-for-profits which want to run effective one-on-one mentoring programs. BBBS has trained, certified and provides, technical assistance to more than 700 youth agencies who have mentored more than 8000 children.
